CCC'18 will be held June 22-24, 2018 at the University of California, San Diego, Qualcomm Institute (CaliIT2), Atkinson Hall.



Please note that the address "9500 Gilman Drive" is for the entire university, so don't use it for directions. Instead, use "Atkinson hall".

Program

The full program is available here. In addition to the invited talks, we there are the following events:
  • Opening reception on June 21, 6-8pm, at the Bella Vista cafe. See map.
  • Business meeting on June 22, 5:15pm.
  • Rump session on June 23, 5:15pm, where participants can announce new results and present open problems for 5-10 minutes. If you are interested, please email a title to Rocco Servedio.

The registration fees are listed below. They include the opening reception, coffee breaks, light breakfast, and lunch.

In order to register, buy a ticket of the right type here (click the "get tickets" button).

Up to the early registratation deadline, for an extra $20 you can also buy there a ticket for a shuttle that will bring you from the CCC'18 site to the STOC'18 site right after CCC'18 ends. Details will be sent to ticket holders in due time.

Update: there are a few shuttle tickets left for late registrants. They can be purchased for $30 in the registration website.

Privacy policy

The registration information is used by the conference organizers to facilitate communication of registration confirmation and conference details, and for planning and running the event. Name, email address, status, and affiliation are shared with the executive committee of the Computational Complexity Foundation (CCF). Name and email address are used to determine the electorate for the CCF Board elections and for generating the ballots. Status and affiliation are used for statistics about conference attendance. Individual records are kept for no more than 4 years. Statistical data are kept indefinitely.

Sharing

For those willing to share a hotel, we have created a Google sheet where you can post your information and look for others to contact. You may also use this to share rides, if you like.

Travel Allowances

In order to defray the costs of attending the conference, travel allowances are offered to students. The source is an NSF grant, and hence is restricted to US-based students. The deadline for applying has passed.

Visa

A visa to the US may be needed for attending the conference, e.g., for citizens of China, India, and Russia. This website has the exact rules. If a visa is needed, please get in touch with your local US consulate as soon as possible; the whole process may take several months. If you need an invitation letter, please email Sam Buss.

Arriving in San Diego

BY PLANE

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is located at the heart of San Diego. There are many direct flights from many destinations to San Diego. The best way to get from the airport to the university, or to your hotel, is via taxi / Uber / Lyft. These should cost $30-50, depending on your time of arrival.

BY CAR

If you are arriving by car to the university, please note that the parking lots closest to the venue location are for UC San Diego permit holders only. If you park there, you will get a fine. Please use the Hopkins parking structure which has visitor parking. Parking is $16/day, and it is a 5-10 minutes walk from the venue.
